Lunch with Locals
Before lunch, you'll get a guided tour through the family compound by your host. You'll learn that more than one family often lives within a single compound — when a son marries, his wife usually moves in, so a compound is a home for extended families, each with their own sleeping quarters but sharing the facilities.
You'll be served lunch and can choose to eat with your hands just like the Balinese. Family members drop in to enjoy the food, finding their place to eat anywhere in the compound. Food is freshly cooked in the family kitchen, and you may learn how to cook it too. Selamat Makan.
